Mary Galante departed this life on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the age of 105 after a long happy, healthy life. Mary was born on February 16, 1909 in Sicily, Italy to Guiseppi and Angela (Nemphia) Cattafi. Mary immigrated to the U.S. and lived in Easton, Pa and Glassboro, NJ before locating to Vineland, NJ. She worked as a sewing machine operator for American Sportswear. Mary loved to cook, read and go to the casinos up until her passing. Mary is predeceased by her brothers; Nick, Joe, Peter and Carmen Cattafi, sisters; Grace Gambino, Lillian O'Donnel, and Lorenza Viola and her son, Dr. Salvatore Galante of Vineland. Mary is survived by two daughters, Marie Tonetta and husband Alex Jr. and Angela Manera of Vineland, grandchildren; Alex, Rick and Mary Tonetta, John, David and Stephen Manera, 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Padre Pio Parish, Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 4680 Dante Ave., Vineland. Mary will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Pompeii Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday morning from 9am to 10:45am at the CHURCH. Donations may be made to Padre Pio Parish in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
