Obituary of Isabelino Gonzalez

Isabelino "Lino" Gonzalez, 95, born August 2, 1919, died Friday March 20, 2015. He was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to Meliton Gonzalez and Mercedes Vasquez. He came to the United States in his early thirties and has since been a long time resident of South Jersey. He was a farm laborer and later retired from the clothing industry in 1964. Lino was a devout Catholic, an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, playing dominoes, and taking his daily walks. But most of all, he cherished time spent with family and friends. He was well known for his sweet smile, selfless generosity, and kind heart. Father of Awilda Abaza and her husband Hassan, Carlos Gonzalez, and Cynthia Quiñones and her husband Orlando. Grandfather of James Vega, Carlos Gonzalez Jr., Paul Vega, Jo-Ann Gonzalez, Irca Gonzalez, Carlos G. Gonzalez, Alyxandria Quiñones, Kristina Quiñones, and Sabrina Quiñones. Great grandfather of Ian Gonzalez, Matthew Vega, Lauren Vega, and Amaya Gonzalez. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lino was loved by many and will be missed by all. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at 11am at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Michael's Church, Minotola. Burial will be private. Family and friends will be received on Friday morning at the CHURCH from 9am to 10:45am.
