David Marshall Miller, Jr., 60, lifelong resident of Vineland, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and daughter by his side, holding his hand on Thursday, February 2, 2017. David was surrounded by his loving family and friends during his courageous fight with cancer. He attended and graduated from St. Francis of Assisi Grammar School where he was an altar boy, class president and played Little League sports. He was a graduate of Vineland Senior High School, Class of 1974 where he received the Valuable Player Award in football and also played baseball and basketball. David enjoyed gathering his neighborhood friends after school and on weekends to play street hockey and other sports. He had a unique personality, was a leader, was honest, fun, intelligent, straight to the point, boldly opinionated and quick witted and was always there for family and friends. He later went on to graduate from the Casino School and the Vocational Technical School and learned the upholstery trade from his uncle Walt Heck at Walt's Custom Upholstery where he was employed for several years. He was a department manager in retailing for several stores in the area. He worked as a black jack dealer and casino games dealer from 1979 to 1984 at the Golden Nugget, Tropicana and several other casinos in Atlantic City. David was a master of different trades. He returned to work as an Upholster and was employed by Jim Flowes Upholstery and Royce Upholstery for James Lewis. He also was employed by Terrick's Tree Service and South Jersey Tree Service. David later became the owner and operator of Royce Upholstery Shop in Vineland. He was a professional and always did quality work. He and his employees always took pride in every aspect of his business. He enjoyed gathering and being with his friends, sports, music, fishing, cooking, canoeing, going to race car driving events and was an enthusiastic Philadelphia sports fan. He will be deeply missed. He is predeceased by his parents, David M. Miller, Sr. and Gloria C. (Girone) Miller. David is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Lisa Marie (LaRosa) Miller; loving daughter, Christina (Miller) Lombardo; grandchildren, Dominic and Allison; brother, Tim Miller; niece Nicole (Miller) Granato and family and many other dear nieces and nephews.
