Joseph C. Gallo, Sr. of Franklin Township passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021 at the age of 90. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Minnie (Midure), and devoted children, Debra Spitalieri and Joseph C. Gallo, Jr. (Cynthia). He was also blessed with grandchildren Salvatore Spitalieri (Julianne), Stephanie Recht (Steven), Victoria Gallo (Anthony Marcucci), and Alexandra Gallo (Mark Conway). He was the adored great-grandpop of Salvatore, Gabriella and Miabella Spitalieri, and Joshua and Michaella Recht. He will be greatly missed by his in-laws Toni Gallo and Mary Gallo, as well as his Midure Family, Joseph and MaryAnn Midure, Lydia Midure (late Pete), Nickie Craig (late Charles), Delores and Richard Tomassetti, Austin and Marge Midure, Theresa Ensign (late Don) and Leo and Corinne Midure. He will be fondly remembered by his twenty-nine nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Salvatore M. Spitalieri, Sr., his brothers Salvatore, Frank, Ralph, and David Gallo, and his sister Ann Pantilione. Joe was born in New York on September 17, 1930, and his family moved to Vineland NJ in the late 1930's. He was employed as a union tile setter for the majority of his career, and was a highly skilled mechanic. His career was highlighted by the resurgence of Atlantic City and he was most proud of his work in the casinos during that time, but his talents are evident in the countless jobs completed in the region during his career. He retired in 1990 and spent the last thirty years making wine, tending to his garden, and spending time with his family. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 9:00 -10:30 AM at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 104 Catawba Avenue, Newfield. Interment at All Saints Cemetery, Newfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Rose of Lima Church, or a charity of your choice in Joe's name. Please note that masks may be required at the funeral home, church and cemetery and that all CDC guidelines and social distancing should be followed.
