John attended Cumberland County College, Cummins and Mack Schools. In 1967, he met the love of his life, Roseann (Pace) and married in 1969. They were married for 52 years.

What John loved the most was being with his children and grandchildren. He was known as "Mr. Fix-it" and could repair anything from a broken toy to a car. John was a very simple, loving "gentle" man and never complained during his cancer treatments. He was full of life and always smiling and joking around.

John loved to be called by his birth name "Johnnie." He worked at National Freight, Trico and the Courtyard School where he was fondly known as "Mr. John." He was a St. Vincent DePaul Supporter and an active member of the St. Padre Pio Shrine Rosary Association.

In his past time, John enjoyed watching the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers and Sixers games with family and friends. He loved working in his yard, enjoying his pool, reading history books, taking videos of family and events and listening to music, especially to the "oldies." He enjoyed traveling and his favorite trips were driving cross-country in his Camaro on Route 66 and Disney World with his grandchildren. John was a faithful man who was dedicated to praying the rosary everyday and attending Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
