Timothy E. Barber of Vineland passed away February 4, 2025 after a brief illness. Tim was born September 7, 1943 and was a life-long resident of Vineland. He attended Sacred Heart High School. He was the son of the late George A. Barber and late Marie (Fischer).
Tim worked as a barber, carpenter, and boiler operator. He retired in the mid-2000s as Chief Operating Engineer of the Powerhouse at Woodbine Developmental Center. Tim was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #2531 and served as Grand Knight four times. He served many years as a Eucharistic Minister at Sacred Heart Church.
Tim was known for his fondness of nature, love of gardening, and playful sense of humor. He also enjoyed playing chess, pinochle, doing puzzles, computer gaming and cooking for his family.
He was a loving husband of 60 years to Elizabeth (Cerverizzio) and a devoted father to Jennifer Meehan (Kevin) and Jill, grandfather to Ryan and Grace Meehan. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Thomas (Victoria), Rita Yusko (Martin), Michael (Patricia), Brenda Shaw (Harvey), Steven (Bernice) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings George, Rose Marie Shadinger, Anthony, and Daniel.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 11:00am -12:30pm followed by a memorial service at 12:30pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Knights of Columbus Charities and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
