Joseph Dominick Quarella, 93, of Landisville, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his children, on Thursday, July 5, 2018. Joe was born in 1924, on the homestead of the family farm, Bellview Farms in Landisville. He graduated from Vineland High School in 1944 with high honors. In 1946, he and Lettie (Littizzia) Dalponte, of Richland, were married. The couple purchased property on Weymouth Road, enlarging Bellview Farms, and built a home there. Joe continued farming as the third generation of the family, and together with hardworking Lettie, they built a successful business.
Joe avidly pursued his hobby of participating in Field Trials, hunting with and training English Setter bird dogs. Joe was also active in service to his community, serving as a member of Farm Bureau, an active member of the Landisville Fruit Growers Cooperative, member of the Board of Directors of the Vineland Produce Auction, President of the Atlantic County Board of Agriculture, President of the Buena Regional School Board and also as Councilman for Buena Boro.
After retirement, Joe remained interested in the activities around the farm where he lived his entire life, and supported and enjoyed watching the business take new directions.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Frances (Melli) Quarella and wife, Lettie (Dalponte) Quarella.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Linda (Joe) Sacco, Beverly (Paul) Shropshire and James (Nancy Christensen) Quarella; grandchildren, Michael (Dawn) , Amy (Dan), Lee (Kate), Sean (Flowey), Tony (Ashley), Colleen and Scott; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Esther Goffreddi; sister-in-law, Pearl Bylone; sister-and brother-in-law, Stella and Paul Sterchele and was loved by many nieces and nephews.
