Charles F. Emmel, Sr., 77 of Malaga, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Inspira Medical Center, Elmer, surrounded by his loving family after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Born in Woodbury, NJ, Charles grew up in Brigantine, where he developed a great love for the sea and later settled in Malaga with his family until his death.
He retired in 2008 from Scott Paper Company/Fiber Tech, Landisville where he was employed for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, HAM radio, reading and spending time with his family.
Charles was a hardworking, patient and kind hearted man who had a thirst for knowledge. He was a quiet man, but when he shared his thoughts, his wisdom was immeasurable. In life he was a mentor to everyone that came into his path and encouraged his children to work hard and continue to learn throughout life.
He is predeceased by his mother, Doris of Leeds, England; father, Edward of Camden, NJ; sister, Dolores and brothers, Edward, Harry and John.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Helen L. Emmel; 3 children, Dana (Thomas), Wendy (Joseph) and Charles, Jr (Kristi); grandchildren, Jeffrey, Mia, Liam, Emma and Madelynn.
