Joseph Bennett Jr., age 78 passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer for 6 1/2 years...He was born in Salem, NJ to the late Jean (Veno) Bennett, and Joseph Bennett Sr. He was the brother of Shirley Moore.
He loved what he did as a young man hunting, trapping, and fishing. He could fix anything when it came to mechanics. Joseph had a beautiful and loving soul.
He served his country in the Army, worked for Prudential of Millville in his younger years and then worked and retired from Vanguard Investments as a Programmer Systems Analyst.
He leaves behind his beautiful and loving wife of 30 years and caregiver during his illness, Elizabeth "Lisa" Bennett. He adored and loved his 2 granddaughters, Amanda Scharuda, Alexandra Moschella and spent a lot of time with them whether it was Christmas or birthdays. They never ever missed calling their grandpa on the phone or visiting with him. They always managed to put a big smile on his face. Out of all the grandchildren they were the closest and he leaves an empty void in their hearts and he will be greatly missed.
Left behind are his stepchildren, Victoria (Scharuda) Moschella (Joe), Victor Scharuda helped his step dad making sure he was comfortable in his last days. Karen Dimacale, daughter, Joseph Bennett III, son, children from his first. marriage; grandchildren, Michelle Dimacale, Danielle Dimacale, Maddie Dimacale, Samantha Dimacale and Joshua Bennett.
A big thank you goes out to Bob Jones who helped in any way that he could to make Joseph's life easier, as a friend and a neighbor a one of a kind gentleman.
