Obituary of Giovanni Rizzo

Giovanni "John" Rizzo, 77 of Vineland, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at home after an extended illness.

Born in Messina, Italy, he moved to Vineland in 1954 and attended Sacred Heart School.

John was employed at Rock Tenn Partition Company for over 40 years and also for Wheaton Industries, Bridgeton as a security guard.

He enjoyed horse racing and car's, but most of all being with his family. John was an excellent cook and liked being outdoors in the sun.

He is predeceased by his parents, Frank Rizzo and Josephine Giocappella, sister, Amelia Kanos and 2 brother-in-laws, Anthony Venuto and Phil Darrigo.

He is survived by 1 brother, Joseph Rizzo (Gigi) of Franklinville; 4 sisters, Theresa Venuto of Vineland, Sue Santina Darrigo of Vineland, Julie Francesconi of Vineland and Joanne Petronglo (Carmen) of Newfield and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 9am to 10:30am with a funeral service to follow at 10:30am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
