Joseph P. Munafo, 85 of Vineland, died Thursday, December 20th, 2012 at Lincoln Specialty Care, following a brief illness.
Born in Glassboro, Joey graduated from Glassboro High School where he was Captain of the Boys Varsity Basketball Team. He moved to the Vineland area, where he was employed as a truck driver for Armellini's Trucking Firm. He also drove for a Rochester, New York based trucking company.
Joey served as a Corporal in the United States Army during WWII.
He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the South Vineland Tavern and the Recreation Club.
Joey is survived by a sister Mary Ricci of Buena Borough and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Josephine Munafo, a son Joseph Munafo Jr., his sisters Pauline Nastasi and Rose Galli, brothers Paul Munafo and Anthony (Bootsie) Munafo Jr.
Funeral services were private. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
