Obituary of Maria D. Ortiz

Maria D. Ortiz "Charito", 59, of Ponce, Puerto Rico, resident of Vineland, NJ, went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2021. "Chary" was a loving mother, grandmother, and dedicated partner. All experienced mom's love. Her love came in the form of massive plates and joyful lasting conversations. She loved babies, and dedicated her life to being an impactful presence in children's lives (all babies), caring, loving, guiding, and making sure they were safe, loved, and secure. Charito is survived by her three children, son, Ramon Ortiz (40) of Illinois, son, Nataniel Ortiz (36) of Vineland, and daughter, Yamileth Ortiz (34) of Vineland; eight grandchildren, along with many more she adopted along the way. She leaves behind her mother Rosa Rivera of Ponce, Puerto Rico; two sisters, Lillian and Doris and brother, Jose, and last but not least, her first love, Edwin Santiago of Ponce, Puerto Rico. She is predeceased by her baby sister, Lilibeth Santiago and younger brother, Santos Santiago. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 9am to 11am, followed by funeral services at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2775 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery.
