Obituary of Michael A. Domico
Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Michael A. Domico, 96, sixty-six year resident of Vineland, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2021 at the New Jersey Veteran's Memorial Home where he resided for the past 7 years. Mike was born on July 10, 1924 to Joseph "Joe" and Angelina "Angie" Domico in Landisville N.J. His Italian immigrant parents instilled rich values in their son and his six siblings at a young age. He graduated from Woodbury High School in 1943 and that summer eagerly enlisted in the Army Air Corps because his country was at war. He bravely served as a Radio Operator Machine Gunner until his honorable discharge as Sergeant in 1946 and was a proud WWII veteran.
As a young man, Dad worked in the family business, Joe's Diner in Westville, NJ. He fell madly in love with Jennie Landolfi and they wed in 1948. Their glorious union produced three children, Mickey, Linda and Robby.
1960 launched the start of Mike's 40-year career as a multi-million-dollar producer for Prudential Life Insurance Company. Mike was dedicated to family, God, and country. He was a force of nature who balanced family, work and community service - always with a smile, determination, and selflessness. He served his community for multiple years as President of the Vineland Exchange Club and former Chairman of the United Fund. He was also a life-long devout parishioner of St Francis of Assisi's and upheld the motto of Boy Scouts of America, where he played an active role for much of his life. Michael Domico embodied the "American Dream", proving that anything is attainable with a strong work ethic and faith in God. He was determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of every milestone his family made and always tried his best to support them. Mike was always at his best!
As much as Mike (Dad, Uncle Mike, and Pop Pop) will be missed, we can all rest assured that he accomplished everything he set out to do in life and made the world a better place. He led a wonderful life and his legacy will live on!
He is survived by his eldest son, Michael D. Domico of Lehigh Acres, Florida, his devoted daughter and son-in law, Linda and Bob Walters of Ocala, Florida, youngest son and daughter in law, Bob and Cindy Domico of Vineland, NJ; beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Bob and Tracey Walters, Richard Walters, Dinah Walters, Gregory and Dina Domico, Janna and Joey Sakla, and precious great grandchildren, Joe Walters and Olivia Domico. Mike leaves behind his youngest and last surviving sibling, Robert G. Domico, beloved brothers and sisters in law, Pete and Maggi Pirri, Theresa Colna, Nina and Norman Fritz, and Gladys Landolfi.
His lovely wife Jennie predeceased him after 66 years of marriage in 2014.
