Carmen J. Torres (Benítez), 75, of Vineland, NJ passed away suddenly in her home on Saturday, December. 30, 2020. She was born on September 29, 1945 in Aibonito, Puerto Rico to the late Eduardo and Carmen (Serrano) Benítez. Carmen married the love of her life, her beloved Jose E. Torres and enjoyed 56 happy years together. They arrived in this country as a young couple with their six month old baby Lourdes, in pursuit of the American dream. Together, they worked side by side to make a life that was filled with joy and happiness while raising their growing family. Carmen and Jose enjoyed spending their time with their family especially with their grandchildren, great grandchildren and their many friends. As a homemaker, Carmen was blessed with many years of enjoying her children fully and providing loving guidance and being there every day when her children arrived home from school with a big embrace and a warm hug. She was pure joy and exuded a love that was unconditional, ever present and gave her children the confidence to live their lives fully. Our parents enjoyed traveling with the family on many occasions throughout their childhood. Carmen had a strong faith in God, praying every day for family, friends, and acquaintances. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness Congregration over 45 years and loved being of service to others and helping her spiritual brothers and sisters. She loved playing dominos, entertaining, dancing and was always found in the kitchen preparing many delicious meals made with love. She will be greatly missed but we will always benefit from her example of a life well lived. Carmen is survived by her beloved husband, Jose E. Torres; daughters, Lourdes Torres Kee, Madeline Torres and Diana Torres; sons, Joshua A. Torres and Terrell Michael Bell; grandchildren, Raymond López, Ashley López, Juliana Kee and Christina Kee; great grandchildren, Tobías Bell, Trystan López, Elana Torres, Ashton Torres, Joshua Torres, Dominick Torres and Elizabeth Torres. She is also survived by her sister, María Magdalena Colon and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Ángela Vásquez (Benítez), José Benítez, Providencia Dávila (Benitez), Eduardo Benítez and her granddaughter, Luciana Torres. Due to the COVID pandemic and in consideration of everyone's safety, the family has decided on a private viewing. The private family viewing will be held at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S.
