Obituary of Pauline M. Bersani

Please share a memory of Pauline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Pauline Marini Bersani, 86, of Ewan, Elk Township, went peacefully to her eternal rest on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. For the first time in years, Mrs. Bersani walks unaided, stands tall, and sees clearly! Mrs. Bersani was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 19, 1934, the eldest daughter of Antonio and Nicasia "Sue" Marini (nee Giacchino). After graduating from South Philadelphia High School for Girls on January 23, 1951, she began working at the Keystone Automobile Club (now AAA), then moved to Bell Telephone. Mrs. Bersani married the love of her life, Angelo C. Bersani of Bristol, PA, on November 26, 1955. They enjoyed 37 years together before Angelo passed away on November 1, 1992. They had three children. Mrs. Bersani returned to work in 1966, accepting a position as a secretary with the Philadelphia School District, where she continued to work before retiring as a senior secretary from Furness High School in 1993. Mrs. Bersani moved to Ewan in Elk Township in 1970, where she resided for the past 51 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Betty Grace Harris (nee Marini) and her son, Anthony Louis Bersani. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn B. Ferrucci and her husband, David of Newfield, NJ; son, Angelo C. Bersani and wife Sandra of Orlando, FL; four grandsons, Frank Angelo Ferrucci of Sweetwater, NJ, David Paul Ferrucci and his wife, Karen (nee Wiener), of Bear, DE, grandsons Michael Alexander Bersani of Linwood, NJ, and Ben Bersani of Orlando, FL; granddaughter, Angela Frances Bersani of East Brunswick, NJ; great-grandson, Paul Anthony Ferrucci of Bear, DE; two daughters-in-law, Catherine Sutman of Linwood, NJ, and Stacey Bersani (nee McDonnell) of East Brunswick, NJ; beloved cousin, Marie Butkowski (nee Valente) of Hammonton, NJ, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bersani enjoyed solving anagrams, cryptograms, crossword puzzles, playing cards, reading, dining out (especially breakfast or brunch!), and shopping at the Amish Market in Mullica Hill. She loved spending time with her family and friends and spent a good deal of her retirement taking care of and running errands for a group of female friends. Generous of spirit, she quietly donated to her local police and fire departments and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Mrs. Bersani was known for her wit, laughter, and wisdom. Indeed, she shared these gifts with friends and family, who loved hearing her laugh, especially at something that took her by surprise. As the matriarch of her family, her sudden and untimely death has left a void too deep to fill. She is dearly missed by all she loved and all who loved her. Friends and family will be received on Friday, January 29, from 4-7pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Social distancing and face coverings in accordance with COVID guidelines are mandatory. Mass of Christian Burial and interment remain private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
