Wilbur Arnold Fennal, 79 of Newfield, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 surrounded by family.
Wilbur was born on August 10, 1941 from the union of John and Jessie (nee Connelly) Fennal. He attended Aura Elementry School, Clayton Middle School, Clayton High School, awarded a full football scholarship, Wilbur furthered his education at Montana State University before graduating in 1964. Then went on to complete his Master's degree in Psychology. Wilbur also served his country in the US Army, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.
In 1968 Wilbur met the love of his life and wife of many decades, Delores (nee Caudill). From that union came Sonya Fennal and Ryan Fennal.
Wilbur will always be remembered for his intellect, love of Jazz music, love of family and the amazing gift of connecting with young people in the classroom as well as on the football field.
He was a member of the Gloucester County Sports Hall of Fame, South Jersey Football Coaches Association, was a coach at Washington Township High School since 1992, and previously served as an assistant coach at Rowan University as well as other positions and received many other awards.
Wilbur leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Delores (nee Caudill) Fennal; daughter, Sonya Fennal (Billy) and son, Ryan Fennal (Alexandra); brother, Jasper Fennal (deceased), (Evelyn); sister, Delores Fennal-Copeland (deceased) (Warren); brother, Norman Fennal (deceased) (Barbara), brother, Carl Fennal (deceased) (Audrey), brother, Thomas Fennal (deceased) (Esther), brother, Richard Fennal (deceased); sister, Joan Fennal; brother, Victor Fennal (deceased) (Joyce); sister, Thelma (Fennal) Monroe; brother, Gary Fennal (Amy) as well as several brothers and sisters in laws, a host of nephews and nieces; grandchildren, Ciana Dickinson, Justin Fennal, Cierra Dickinson, Ryan Marcus Fennal, Aleena Fennal, Ava Fennal and Xavier Casiano.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 3pm to 5pm with funeral services to follow at 5pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, NJ. Interment/repast will be at the discretion of the family.
