Angel Mendez-Maldonado, 78 of Vineland, went to rest peacefully at his daughter's home to be with the Lord on Friday morning February 8, 2013 at 4:10am. Born on October 6, 1934 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Angel was a hard-working man in construction and ended his retirement enjoying fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his parents, Serapio Mendez and Dominga (Maldonado).
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Silvia Mendez, his 2 daughters, Evelyn Vega and Isabel Mejias; siblings, David, Juan, Lorenzo, Gillermo, Antonia, Isabel Mendez and Dominga Guzman; grandchildren, Glenda Vega, Jorge Mejias, Jr., and Rogelio Vega; great grandchild, kaiden Vega and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at Divine Mercy Parish, Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends will be received on Thursday evening from 6pm to 8pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland and again on Friday morning at the CHURCH from 9am to 10am.
