Obituary of Betty J. Engstrom

Betty J Engstrom, 82, loving mother, sister, mom mom and aunt, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 9, 2021.

Betty graduated from Vineland High School in 1956 and worked at Kontes Glass, where she met her husband, John. They married in 1958 and she joined him at Edwards Air Force Base in California where he was stationed. While at the base, she worked for the flight test and inspector's office until they started their family. Upon returning to New Jersey, they lived in Vineland for many years with some time in Perrysburg, Ohio until back to NJ to their beloved "Woodsy" house in Quinton Twp.

Betty will always be remembered for her great smile, beautiful voice, kind and generous spirit, love of family and friends, her life serving God and the Church, volunteering for the PTO, and being with her husband, the scout masters, most devoted sidekick for Vineland BS Troop #37.

She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, spending time at the "Hill" working in the office and enjoying their afternoon Pepsi parties, and spending time with her grandkids.

She is predeceased by her parents, Alfred Sr. and Elizabeth Tharp and her brother, Alfred Tharp Jr.

She leaves behind her children, Pamela and Albert Pellegrini, Karen and Michael Bauman, David Engstrom and Jennifer and Aaron Yezbick; her sister, Barbara Cornatzer and family, her sister-in-law, Marilyn Tharp and family and her seven grandchildren, Albert (fiancé Gabby), Joshua (fiancé Paige), Alyssa, Alec (wife Maethe), Benjamin (wife Meg), Leah and Colin.

Family and Friends will be received on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 2pm to 3pm followed by a funeral service at 3pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private. Memorial donations can be made to Bayada Hospice, Wounded Warriors or the Vineland SPCA.
