Obituary of Katherine R. Vannella

Katherine Roberta (Van Deusen) Vannella, 96, died on April 27, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. She worked for over 40 years for the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company which eventually became Verizon. She was involved in several community organizations over her life including the Brownies Troop with her daughters, the Sacred Heart PTA and the Rosary Alter Society. She was a member of the Communication Workers of America. She is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Michael, and survived by four children, Michael and Mary Ann (Dywan) Vannella of Rockville, Maryland, Kathleen and Mark Driscoll of Upper Deerfield, Mary Ann Salerno of Washington Township and Robert and Mary Ann (Vickey) Vannella of Vineland. During her final years she lived with and was cared for by her daughter, Mary Ann in her Washington Township home. She also was survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 11am to 11:45am, followed by a funeral liturgy at 12pm at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 1010 E. Landis Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private for family only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org/memorialgifts.
