Obituary of Joaquin Nieves

Joaquin Nieves Sr. of Newfield, passed away at his home on August 11, 2021 at the age of 75.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Zaida; son, Gary; daughter, Zoe; daughter, Frances; son, Phillip; daughter, Leonora; son, Joaquin; brothers, Freddy and Joe; and many grandchildren whom he doted on.

Mr. Nieves was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, and grew up in the Bronx, and was one of twelve brothers and sisters.

His family and friends celebrate a kind and gentle man who carried Jesus in his heart every day. He worked for many years as an auto body repair man. Mr. Nieves was a skilled craftsman who constantly helped family and friends with home projects and repairs. He served as board member, deacon and head usher for Victory Assembly of God. He loved his church, for which he served nearly 30 years. Mr. Nieves loved fishing, working on cars, cooking for his family, cheering on his grandchildren in sports, and his dog Shadow. He will be dearly missed by those who sought his guidance and loved him.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 9-10:30am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, NJ followed by a funeral service at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Please follow covid precautions and wear a mask.
