Joan M. Fabrizio, 86, of Franklin Township, NJ passed away peacefully at home where she was surrounded by her beloved family on August 26, 2021. Joan was a lifelong resident of Franklin Township, NJ. Joan was a retired business owner, schoolteacher and real estate agent. In 1970 she established and operated the Velvet Touch Custard Stand & George's Farm Market in Newfield, NJ. Joan then graduated from Glassboro State College in 1976 and began teaching at Edgarton Memorial Elementary School for 29 years. During that time, she also became a real estate agent beginning her career with Lori Real Estate in 1988 and remained an active and successful real estate agent, retiring in 2021 with Exit Homestead Realty Professionals. Throughout her life, Joan has been recognized and nominated by committees composed of administrators, staff and community members for many awards, distinguishing her professionalism as a teacher and dedication to serving her community in real estate excellence. Some of the awards included the New Jersey Governor Teacher of the Year Award, Realtor Associate of the Year, Quarter Century Club Award, and most recent Exit Homestead Realty Professionals Hall of Fame award in 2020. As a hobby, she took great pride in sponsoring, participating, and judging New Jersey regional and state beauty pageants. Joan enjoyed being active by selling real estate, traveling and going to the beach. She loved and appreciated nature's beauty and all of her beloved animals. Joan took pleasure in meeting new people, and most of all cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish. She is survived by her three sons, George Fabrizio (Dayle) of Ruskin, FL, Ernie Fabrizio (Sharon) of Newfield, NJ, Joseph Fabrizio (Patricia) of Buena, NJ; two daughters, Kathleen "Kate" Fabrizio, of Newfield, NJ, Janine Fabrizio (Jean), of Toms River, NJ, and nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mildred T. Wilson and her brother, James Jr. Wilson. Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 South Lincoln Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08361 and again, Thursday morning September 2, 2021 at the St. Rose of Lima Church, 104 Catawba Ave, Newfield, NJ 08344 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. followed by a mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Sicklerville, NJ Methodist Cemetery, 406 Church Rd, Sicklerville, NJ 08081. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the South Jersey Animal Shelter by check or via their website: https://southjerseyregionalanimalshelter.org/
