Obituary of Samuel A. Pierro

Samuel "Sammy" Anthony Pierro went home to Jesus on September 6th at the age of 73. Sammy was born to Samuel Peter Pierro and Josephine Safranek on February 12th, 1948 in Landis Township, NJ. Sammy served in the United States Army as a combat engineer during the Vietnam era where he was honorably discharged as a Sgt.
As a kid growing up, he always worked on and built dune buggies. One of his many accomplishments is he held the fastest time for a dune buggy at Atco Speedway. His passion for working on cars and trucks became his life's work, he was considered a mechanic's mechanic. He was the service manager at B&B Motors. He then decided to go into business for himself by owning and operating Westside Gulf. After Westside Gulf, he started a successful snowplowing business, excavation business (Sam Pierro's Excavation) and for the last 40 years successfully owned and operated Pierro Family Christmas Trees.
Throughout his entire adult life, he held an unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus, which he shared with everyone. He was a Sunday school teacher for many years at the Vineland Nazarene Church for the youth and young adults.
Sammy is survived by his wife, Celest (Errickson); his children, Sarah, Aaron ,and Tony; two daughter in laws, Victoria and Rebekah. He also had the pleasure of having one grandson, Asher. His sister Shirley and brother-in-law, Bob Creighton; brother-in-law's and sister-in-law's, Joseph and Sandy Apprendi, Richard and Merle Donoflio, Jerry and Linda Errickson, Donna Lopergolo and Nyla Errickson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of friends.
Sammy was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Josephine; his in-laws, Richard and Ruth Errickson; brother-in-law, Chuck Errickson and Mike Lopergolo and sister-in-law, Marjorie Luciano.
For anyone who can't make it or feels uncomfortable going to the viewing, we understand and just want you to know it will be streamed online at ccvineland.org/sampierro on Sunday, September 12th from 6pm to 8pm with funeral services at 7pm at Calvary Chapel, Vineland. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
