Obituary of Alfonso Marcelino

Alfonso Marcelino, 58, born July 17, 1963, in San Jose De las Matas, Dominican Republic. Son of Alfonso Marcelino and Andrea Maura Marcelino; brother of Julio, Tito, Lucy, Mercedes, Elizabeth, Flor and Arelis. Alfonso is survived by his wife of 33 years, Alicia Emilia Collado; his sons, Christopher and Jonathan Marcelino; and grandchildren Aziah, Aleisha, Amariah and Analiah. He was predeceased by his grandchild, Jonadiel. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. At the age of 16 he arrived in the United States. He resided in Paterson, NJ for 11 years. In 1991 he moved to Vineland with his wife where he lived for the past 30 years. He was a very hardworking man of many trades. His dream was to open a tire shop and one of his accomplishments was in 2009 when he opened Best Deal Tire Shop LLC. He loved spending time with his family, riding his bike, taking the kids to the park, watching TV, playing computer games – or as he would call it, "working" – and always helping others. Everyone knew him as a funny man, always joking and laughing. He was sweet and loving, although he would come off strong. He became sick in 2015 and even then, he would make jokes with doctors and nurses. Through his sickness he accepted God. He enjoyed going to church where he loved and served for one year. On July 3, 2021, he was baptized. He also loved his dog, Apollo, and would feed him anytime he ate. He was always accompanied by him even while at the shop for the past 15 years. Alfonso passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, in Vineland. He may be gone but will never be forgotten. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 6pm until 8pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland and again on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 10am until 11am at the funeral home. A funeral service will follow at 11am. Interment will be in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. As per the family's request, masks are required for the viewing and service, regardless of vaccination status.
