Joseph was born in Camden, NJ on August 28, 1953, grew up on the Polen Farm in Williamstown, NJ and moved to Florida during childhood. He then moved back to New Jersey with his mother and sister. Joseph spent some time serving his country with the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He then worked at Wheaton's Glass for 26 years where he created and implemented safety training programs as a Safety Officer while also earning degrees from Cumberland County College and teaching as an adjunct professor at Rowan University. After leaving Wheaton's, Joe spent his remaining working years at Schwann's Home Food Delivery Service. Joseph thoroughly enjoyed traveling up and down the east coat with his kids in their baseball and softball careers, building cars and entering car shows, collecting antiques, shooting pool and bowling, playing Madden, creating art in many different mediums, singing and spending time with all of his beloved cats and dogs throughout the years.
