Obituary of Martha Mercado
Martha Mercado (Coates), a lifelong resident of Franklinville, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the age of 66.
Marty will be forever remembered as being a loving, devoted, thoughtful and kind woman. She was gregarious and friendly to all and couldn't help but show her infectious smile with all who knew her. Family and friends will miss how she listened to them over the years and kindly offered advice. Marty would never leave the house without her signature red lipstick!
Marty made many friends while working for Acme Markets and recently retired after over 40 years of service. She truly loved her job and was always a joy to work with. She loved going to the Jersey shore, swimming with her grandchildren, and mostly loved spending time with her family. As the youngest of 9 children, family always came first.
Loving daughter of the late John and Margaret Coates (Glenn) and daughter-in-law of the late Anibal and Dora Mercado. She is the beloved wife of 42 years to Jose Mercado; devoted mother of Peter Mercado, Jose Mercado, Jr. (Nicole) and Paul Mercado; cherished grandmother of Alivia, Noelle and Jacob; devoted sister of Patricia Christian (Nicholas), Joanne Cifaloglio (Henry), Kathleen Tinney (Joseph), Barbara Pagliarini (Mark) and the late Margaret Kalvistz, John, Henry and Richard Coates; dear sister-in-law of Peter and Maria Mercado and close cousin to Maria and George Alvarez, Carlos and Linda Sepuloeda, Margaret and Bill Gomez and Enrico and Jenn Gonzalez. Marty also leaves behind numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 6-8pm at the DeMarco- Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08361. Family and Friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 for a Funeral Liturgy at 10am at Our Lady of Peace Parish, St. Mary's Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Memories, thoughts and prayers may be extended to the family by visiting dlfuneral.com.
