Obituary of Adelfa Maria Baruffi

Adelfa Maria (Cioni) Baruffi, age 98 of Vineland, NJ, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Bishop McCarthy Residence.

Worked as a seamstress doing piece work, sewing the cuffs on military coats at Sparagna's Clothing Factory in Minotola, NJ.

She was a longtime Vineland resident and employed by the Vineland Development Center State School where she worked as a food service worker until retiring. Many residents and employees will remember her appetizing salad bars, lunches and snacks.

Adelfa was an excellent cook and baker. She was especially known for her delicious handmade Northern Italian Zuccarini Cookies. She would bake and give them for holidays and special occasions. Everyone would say she could make them "The Best". Adelfa always worked hard, and enjoyed flowers in her yard, keeping her house up and being independent.

She is survived by her daughter, Elisa Baruffi Nichols and son-in-law, Kenneth Nichols; son, Albert Jr. and daughter-in-law, Saundra Baruffi; 4 grandchildren, Elisa Bruner, Albert Baruffi III, John Nichols, and Sara Baruffi (Paul); 3 great-grandchildren, Jules, Jade and Jayce; as well as one brother, Giuseppe Cioni (Natalina) of Italy; sister-in law, Roberta Cioni of Italy; sister-in-law, Joyce Baruffi of Vineland; 2 nieces, Vanda Cioni Gualandi (Zarmo); Marina Cioni (Gabriele) of Italy; 1 nephew, Renzo Cioni of Italy and many nieces and nephews in Italy and USA.

Adelfa was predeceased by her parents, Armido Cioni and Vermilia Bernardini; her husband, Albert Baruffi in 1963, the first son of Eliseo Arturo Baruffi; three sisters; Vonda, Angela and Maria Cioni who all died in their childhood; 3 brothers, Perino Cioni, Marino Cioni, and Gino Cioni of Italy.

A church visitation will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 9:00 am to 9:45am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Padre Pio Parish, Church of Our Lady of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08361. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victories Cemetery, Summer Ave, Landisville, NJ 08326. Arrangements are by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
