Obituary of Ismael Ventura Sr.

Ismael Ventura, 87, of Vineland passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2022. Born on March 17, 1935, Ismael came from Utuado, Puerto Rico at the age of 17 to work on Tonelli Farms during the day and at night worked at Ideal Bakery in Landisville. He also worked for Casa di Bertacchi Sausage where he retired after 35 years. During this time he also owned Ventura's Record Shop & Ventura's Whole Sale Meats. Ismael loved his family and enjoyed cooking for them, especially around the holidays making coquito and pasteles year round. He enjoyed playing dominos and the lottery. He also liked to watch wrestling, especially Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown. When he wasn't watching wrestling, he loved watching Let's Make a Deal, The Price is Right, and old Country Westerns. He loved being outside and spent his free time gardening and raising animals. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Georgina; daughter-in-law, Suzan and son-in-law, Scott. Ismael is survived by his loving children, Ismael Jr (Lisette), Michael, John, Hector and Arleen; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, 4 step grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his services at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave. Vineland, on Wednesday, March 2nd from 9am to 11am followed by funeral services at 11am.
