My deepest condolences to the Polaha family.
I met Mr Polaha and his wife Carol at the graduation reception of his twin granddaughters Calli and Brooke on May 5th, 2019. Since then we kept communicating through letters back and forth.
Just the first day we met, Mr Polaha offered me his friendship. His sense of humor, politeness, and great human relations would made anyone feel welcome and appreciated. He made me feel like we knew each other for long time, especially when he started conversations in Spanish.
As I read today the obituary, my heart is sad, but knowing the mercy of God, I ask him to embrace Mr. John Polaha in his kingdom and grant peace to all his family and friends in these difficult times.
Faith and peace to you all,
Sra. Mercedes Helms

John touched the lives of countless people as a man with strong Catholic values and a giving man who always knew that God and family were most important to him. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a gentleman in ever sense of the word. He enjoyed life and his smile and personality reflected that as well. John's longtime service as the Director of Recreation for the City of Vineland was outstanding. He loved his job and always tried to do the best he could so that kids could enjoy various activities in the community. John would also be the first to say that he had a very loyal secretary for many years and she would always keep him well-informed of what was happening. John knew it took a team effort to make the Vineland Recreation Department the best that it could be. And he always made himself available to the public - being a true government public servant - and always giving his best effort to make people proud of the Vineland Recreation Department. John loved to talk about sports and his sense of humor was refreshing. John lived life to the fullest and now he is enjoying his ultimate reward in Heaven. God Bless him!

Carol and Family,
So sorry for the loss of John. John and I met when there was a women's softball team in Vineland many years ago. We had our go arounds, but his heart was in the right place. My children were classmates of Andrea and Renee. John always made a point to chat with me when I ran into him at Sacred Heart. May you be comforted by your memories and the assurance of John's place in eternal rest.
Peace,
Karen Bernhardt

Heartfelt sympathies and loving prayers sent from our Polaha Family to yours on the passing of John. We are so thankful that our dad, Joe, and John had the chance to reconnect and share childhood memories prior to their passing. Getting to know John and Carol and some of the rest of the wonderful clan has been a blessing - especially when the meeting is unexpected, like in Rockne Hall at an Allentown Central Catholic basketball game! John was truly a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by all. Know that your extended Polaha family is with you as you grieve and that John is in good company with other family and friends in heaven.

Our deepest sympathy to Carol, children and family. We had the good fortune of meeting John in the mid 80’s when we visited Vineland. As the partner of our wonderful former childhood babysitter, Carol, we delighted in knowing the important man in her life and meeting the beautiful family they created together. At subsequent visits, and several unforgettable encounters in Mexico, we enjoyed John’s delightful company and discovered his many outstanding qualities. Our heart goes out to the Polaha family in this tragic time of loss. We love you, Carol!

We were deeply saddened to learn of John's passing. He loved all kinds of sports but he seemed to like baseball the best. He was always talk to me about my alma mater's (Mississippi State University) baseball team.
We always had a joke going or giggling like kids, about something silly. Always remember to laugh because it seems to make life better. Most of those who knew him best will remember that, especially the grandkids.
There is not much that can take away a since of loss, but know that the entire Polaha family Is in our thought and prayers.
The path he walks is with he Lord. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.

I am in Florida and will not be able to share my condolences in person, but I am glad I have an opportunity here to share: I thought he was a wonderful man and an excellent boss. We met when I applied to teach Baton Twirling for the Vineland Recreation Commission in the mid 1980’s, while I was a college student! He was always so very kind, and always had a smile and a positive attitude! He always treated me with the utmost respect, and it was only natural to reciprocate the well deserved respect for him that I had! A great man has entered into eternal life, but will NEVER be forgotten by those who knew him and loved him! My prayers are with you all!!
With Deepest Sympathy,
Marilyn Beres (nee Biondi, as he knew me)
