Obituary of Susie V Kaganzev
Susie (Giacalone) Kaganzev 72, of Vineland, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland surrounded by her family and through prayer.
Susie was born in Vineland on August 16, 1949, to the late Victor and Concetta (Gallo) Giacalone. She was a dedicated secretary at the Veterans Memorial Middle School in Vineland for 38 years. After retiring, she continued to work by substituting at the school. Susie was also a devoted member of Sacred Heart Church, attending mass regularly. She was a kind, selfless person, who always put others first, which was evident in her passion for volunteering - Susie spent more than 20 years volunteering for Vineland High School, All Sports Booster Club.
In her spare time, Susie loved traveling with her husband and family, especially to Williamsburg, VA and the Ocean City beach and boardwalk. She loved life and could often be found singing and dancing, shopping, playing cards and scrabble with her best friends, and taking walks with her family and friends. Susie enjoyed watching westerns and Turner Classic Movies. A conscious, healthy eater all her life, she loved chocolate and could often be found sneaking a secret piece.
Susie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and aunt who loved her family. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was predeceased by her parents, Victor and Concetta Giacalone. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Alex; her two sons, Alexej, Jr. and Timothy; her brother, Vincent Giacalone; her granddaughter, Alena; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
The family would like to thank Red Oak Hospice for their exceptional care of Susie, they would also like to thank Jen, Rondell, and Tamyra and a special thank you to Rene.
Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 5pm-7pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland and on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Sacred Heart Church 1010 E. Landis Ave., Vineland from 10am-10:45am followed by a funeral liturgy at 11am. Burial will follow at New Kuban Cemetery in Buena.
At the family's request, everyone must wear a mask at the funeral services.
