Obituary of Ofelia Bertoia

Ofelia Bertoia passed peacefully at home on January 28, 2022 at the age of 93. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she voyaged bravely with her husband and two young sons to Millville, NJ in 1957, eventually settling in Vineland. She persevered through this and many other trials throughout her long life and was a survivor in every sense. A seamstress by trade, she found her true joy in crocheting and knitting. She was passionate about world travel, cooking, and in her later years, spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Hector, with whom she loved to tango, and her sons William and Richard. Ofelia is lovingly survived by her daughter's in-law Jeanne (Bill) and Trina (Rich), her grandchildren Lauren Costanza (Joseph), Nina Wenitsky (Jason), Lani Bertoia, Michael Bertoia (Erika) and Monica Butter (Brett), and 8 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all. Friends and family are invited to attend a service in celebration of her life on Wednesday, June 8 at 10:00 am in the Sacred Heart Cemetery Chapel in Vineland, NJ, after which Ofelia and Hector will be laid to rest together.
