Obituary of Ruben DeJesus
Ruben DeJesus, 61 of Atlantic City, went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2022. Ruben was born on July 11, 1961 in Angeles, Utuado, Puerto Rico to Victoriano DeJesus and Herminia Sanchez, and was raised in Vineland, NJ.
Sadly, he had fallen ill and passed away with his family at his bedside in AtlantiCare Reg. Medical Center, as the AtlantiCare team had tried their best to aid him in his fight, and for that we are grateful.
Ruben was a socially optimistic man who attended Vineland High School, graduating in 1979, and went on to college for one year in general work. For most of Ruben's work life, he was a supervisor for the Claridge and Trump Taj Mahal casinos. Once he retired, Ruben had started mechanical work, as it was also a hobby, especially since he loved his cars and hotrods. He was a comedian and wore his heart on his sleeve.
Even though he is with the Lord now, he will always be cherished and loved by many, including: his girlfriend, Denise Oquendo; his daughter, Melissa DeJesus; his grandchildren, Xavier Gonzalez, Ruben Colon, Chris Colon, and Isaiah Colon; his great granddaughter, Lezlianee Gonzalez; and his siblings, Victor, Daniel, Carmen, and Anibal DeJesus; as well as his extended family (written by Isaiah Colon).
Relatives and friends will be received on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 10:00am until 11:00am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. A funeral service will follow at 11:00am. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
