Obituary of Elia Baez

Elia Báez of Hamilton, NJ, passed away at the age of 84, on Friday, September 9, 2022, at RWJ Hospital in Hamilton surrounded by her family. Elia was born on January 10, 1938 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico and was one of 10 children born to Teresa Báez Garriga and Alejandro Báez. She was a loving sister, aunt and friend. She moved from Puerto Rico to New Jersey in 1963 at the age of 21.

She loved to travel and spend time with her family and close friends. She was a very good student and teacher of the Bible and helped many people by teaching them Bible truths. She had learned of the Bible's hope, comfort, and practical wisdom. She was a faithful Jehovah's Witness for 71 years, spending 38 years as a regular pioneer. For the last 5 years, she has been living and serving in the Hamilton area of NJ, and prior to that, Vineland, NJ for 60 years. One of her favorite scriptures was Revelation 21:3,4, which speaks about God's promise to eliminate death and suffering in a new world.

She is survived by her sisters, Rosa M Báez and Hilda Costa; her brother-in-law, Richard Costa; her sister-in-law, Judith Báez, and by her many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces.

Services were private.

Elia Báez de Hamilton, NJ, falleció el viernes 9 de Septiembre de 2022 en el RWJ Hospital de Hamilton a la edad de 84 años, rodeada por su familia. Elia nació el 10 de Enero de 1938 en Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico y fue una de los 10 hijos de Teresa Báez Garriga y Alejandro Báez. Era una hermana, tía y amiga cariñosa. Se mudó de Puerto Rico a Nueva Jersey en 1963 a la edad de 21 años.

Le encantaba viajar y pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos cercanos. Elia era una muy buena estudiante y maestra de la Biblia, y le encantaba compartir y ayudar a muchas personas aprender de la esperanza, el consuelo y la sabiduría práctica que da la Biblia. Fue una testigo de Jehová fiel durante 71 años y pasó 38 años como precursora regular. Durante los últimos 5 años, estaba viviendo y sirviendo en el área de Hamilton, NJ y, antes de eso, en Vineland, NJ durante 60 años. Una de sus escrituras favoritas era Apocalipsis 21:3,4, que habla de la promesa de Dios de eliminar la muerte y el sufrimiento en un mundo nuevo.

Le sobreviven sus hermanas, Rosa M. Báez e Hilda Costa; su cuñado, Richard Costa, su cuñada Judith Báez y muchos sobrinos, sobrinas y sobrinos nietos y sobrinas nietas.
