Obituary of Alice Carolina Nani

Alice Carolina Nani (Sanguinetti) passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 24, 2022. She was born September 8, 1922 in Vineland to Charles and Carolina (Bertacchi) Sanguinetti and raised in Minotola NJ., the youngest of six children. After Alice graduated 8th grade from Dr. JP Cleary Middle School, she started her career as a seamstress, which continued up until her retirement from Minotola Industries. It was in the clothing factory that she met her future husband, Carlo Nani. They were married June 17, 1945 and shared a beautiful life together in Buena, NJ, until Carlo's passing in 2013. Alice was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be remembered for her unconditional love of her family and friends. Alice's passion was sewing, not only in the factory, but at home for whoever needed something mended or made. She loved to cook and bake, and was especially known for her tortellini soup and zuccarini cookies. She loved celebrating the holidays, but her biggest celebration came this past September when she celebrated her 100th birthday with her family and close friends. Alice was a devoted Catholic and attended mass regularly at St. Michaels Church in Minotola. Alice is survived by her daughter, Sharon (John) Ricci; grandchildren, Christopher (Trish) Ricci and Ryan (Maria) Ricci; great grandchildren, Christopher Ricci Jr. and Vincent Ricci; in-law, Joan Ricci; and many nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Carlo; her parents, Charles and Carolina Sanguinetti; her sisters, Virginia Coia, Florence Gazzara, Alma Mottola and Angelina Tarquinio; brother, Paul Sanguinetti, their spouses and members of the Nani family. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 28th from 6-8pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland and Thursday, December 29 from 10-10:45am At Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Michael's Church, 504 S. West Ave., Minotola, followed by a funeral mass at 11am. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery on Union Road, Vineland, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Alice may be made to Our Lady of the Blessed Saracment Church, 104 Catawba Ave. Newfield NJ 08344. The family would like to thank all the exceptional and loving doctors who have cared for Alice through the years, Luz Torres Nunez, her devoted home health aide, and the Samaritan Hospice Team.
