Obituary of Minerva Delgado
Minerva Reyes García Delgado, 91, of Vineland New Jersey passed away on December 25th, 2022, with her companion Rogelio by her side.
Minerva was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 25th, 1931, to Francisco García and Petra Reyes. She was raised in Corozal, Puerto Rico and then relocated to the Bronx, New York as a young woman and eventually moved to Vineland, New Jersey where she bought her first house at 434 Quince St. in Vineland, that everyone knew so well.
Minerva enjoyed sewing and making clothes and she was always well dressed. Minerva liked dancing to salsa music and was also a great cook. She was also known as the Avon Lady around the neighborhood. Minerva had such a great spirit; she was so sweet. She was religious and very involved in her church, Our Lady of Victories in Landisville, NJ. Minerva was crazy about her grandchildren, "Minnie" as they would call her, will be missed dearly.
Minerva is preceded in death by her husband, Andres Delgado; her son, Frankie Crespo; brothers, Hector and Francisco Garcia; and one sister, Gloria Ayala.
Minerva is survived by her companion for over 40 years, Rogelio Garzon of Vineland, NJ; her granddaughter, Tara E. Crespo-Torres of Miami FL; her great grandchildren Iesha M. Crespo, Bryana S. Montalvo and Steven G. Montalvo of Miami, FL; her great-great-grandchildren, Mia Pina, Laneya Pina and Timothy K. Irvin of Miami, FL; her nephews, Nelson Garcia of Vineland, NJ; Victor Declet of Bronx, NY; and extended family members and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:30am with funeral services at 11:30am at the DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland NJ, 08361. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Walnut Rd, Vineland, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family are welcomed.
