Pop was an incredible father to his grandson Gerry and his great grandsons adored him. He opened his heart to my daughter and loved her as if she always belonged. 22 years I’ve been by his grandsons side and loved and cherished Pop as a wonderful grandfather as well. How I’ll ever keep Gerry straight without him I’ll never know but we will miss you immensely. Love you always; your memories we’ll always keep alive. Thank you for all you’ve ever done for us- you absolutely will be missed.

Mr. Kubiak always had a warm smile and kind words for those around him. He was a constant source of love for his loved ones, and his absence will be deeply felt. Though he took life seriously, he also had a great sense of humor and could always make those around him laugh.
Even though he is no longer with us, the impact he had on lives and the love he shared will always be remembered and treasured.
May he rest in peace and may his loved ones find comfort in the love and support of those around them.
Sincerely,
--Rich Marino

I wrote this Father's Day poem for Joe in 2011. It pretty much sums up how I feel about him:
Father’s Day … a great opportunity to express my feelings.
If this poem’s nice enough, maybe you won’t ask me to paint your ceilings.
So in 2003, at just the right time, you entered my mom’s life.
Her spirits were down from dealing with the past few years’ strife.
When you found each other, we all gave a positive nod.
You seemed to fit together like two peas in a pod.
Your presence was a blessing. By the change in her attitude, I could just tell.
Little did I know what a gift you’d be in my life as well.
I know that if I’m ever in need, broken down, or stuck …
One holler and you’d drop what you were doing and jump into your truck.
Your sometimes boisterous ways may indicate you’re looking for a fight.
But those who know you are well aware that your bark is worse than your bite.
Behind that tough exterior is a kind, gentle, caring man.
Your actions speak louder than your words, which is why I’m such a big fan.
Thank you for being there, not only for my mom, but for me too.
You’re definitely one of a kind … if only there were more men like you.
You'll be missed, Joe Kubiak.
