Obituary of Joanena Crowell

Joanena (Lanzi) Crowell (Martorano), born April 11, 1929 to Filippo and Guiseppina Martorano, Rosenhayn, NJ. She passed away peacefully at home on January 8, 2023.

After graduating from Bridgeton High School, she pursued her beautician's license, working at BonTon Beauty Salon on Landis Ave, Vineland. She went to work at Kimble Glass and then to Ace Glass, as a lathe worker, where she continued for 45 years.

Joanena enjoyed spending summers at the beach in Avalon with family. She enjoyed going to the casino, gardening, going out to eat and spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Paul Lanzi and her second husband, Ronald Crowell. She was also predeceased by siblings, Nicholas Martorano, Peter Martorano, Rose Sullen, Augustina (Gussie) Landicini and Frances Metcalf; step-children, Ronald Crowell (Carol), Clinton Crowell and William Crowell.

Joanena is survived by her son, Paul Lanzi (Carolyn); grandchildren, Deborah Czekaj, Tammy Oliva (Tony), Robin Lynn Crowell, Ronald Crowell, Jr, William Crowell Jr (Sharon) and Heather Lomberk (Mike); her caregiver, Elena Dekanosidze; 23 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 12pm to 1pm with funeral services at 1pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Victories Cemetery, Landisville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter, 1244 N. Delsea Dr. Vineland, NJ 08360.
