Obituary of James R. Hanan

James R. Hanan Sr., age 81, of Vineland NJ passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 after a brief illness.

James "Jim" was raised in the Vineland area and was retired for several years. Prior to retirement Jim owned and operated Jim's Subs on 3rd and Oak Street in Millville, NJ for many years.

As a young child Jim lived in Connellsville, Pennsylvania and served as an altar boy at his local catholic church. Jim loved riding motorcycles and was one of the first Vineland residents to obtain a gaming license for blackjack dealing when the Atlantic City Casinos began operations in 1976.

Jim is predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth Barnes.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Ojeda (Hanan), his son, James Hanan Jr., his son in law Ismael Ojeda, and his wife of 61 years, Gloria Hanan (Rosemont). Jim also has three grandchildren, and took great joy in watching them grow into young adults, Peter James Ojeda, Dylan Ismael Ojeda, and Vlada Hanan. Jim loved spending time enjoying his family.

A private memorial service was held at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
