Obituary of Salvatore J. DiAmore
Salvatore J. DiAmore (Sam) of Vineland, NJ, passed away unexpectedly at Inspira Hospital in Vineland on Saturday, April 15, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Sam was born in Camden, NJ, on February 22, 1947. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and deeply loved his country. He worked for many years as a Test Process Engineer at RCA, General Electric, and eventually retired from Lockheed Martin. In addition, he served various Christian ministries for many years writing, producing, and directing Christian Radio programs in the Tri-State area.
Sam built his life on the foundation of Jesus' love for us and wove that story into his daily interactions reminding us of the value of love itself above all else. He lived unashamed of his faith, eager to share love as the cornerstone of his belief. He had a passion for music, and possibly more knowledge about the history of early rock and roll than even the disc jockeys of his youth. While he embraced an amazing variety in his musical tastes, the soundtrack of his life most often included a healthy dose of Sinatra. He was also an avid ham radio operator (WA2JCT) and his lifelong fascination with electronics led to the enthusiasm he felt with his career in engineering. Over the years, you would never see him without some new gadget or talking with amazement about the next technology he wanted to explore. After completing his service in the air force, Sam was able to fully realize another dream by becoming an amateur pilot. What he cherished most of all though, was his family. Sam loved his wife, he adored his children, but he lived for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marie (Marcucci); his three children, David DiAmore (Kristin), Christi DiAmore Serra (Dustin), and Danielle DiAmore Peterson (Torrey); grandchildren: Cameron Serra, Chloe Serra, Matthew DiAmore, Caden Peterson, Michael Peterson, Vanessa Titus, and Levi Titus; sisters Joanne Oagaro (Joe) and Linda Evans (Tom); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, John and Jennie DiAmore of Williamstown NJ.
We invite you to join us at Hope Assembly of God Church, 377 Dutch Mill Road, Newfield, NJ, on Friday, April 21, 2023, for visitation from 10:00am until 11:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am.
