Obituary of Margaret Franceschi

Margaret Mary (Steigerwalt) Franceschi, 87, born March 4, 1936, went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2023, at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, NJ. She was born to her parents, the late Albert F. Steigerwalt, Sr. and Margaret C. (Taylor) Steigerwalt of Franklinville, NJ.

Margaret was the first of five children. She is survived by a sister, Alberta (Steigerwalt) Stasche (Augustus) of Sparta, NJ and Robert Steigerwalt (Louise) of Palm Bay, Florida. She was predeceased by two brothers, Albert F. Steigerwalt, Jr. (Naomi) of Clayton, NJ and Philip Steigerwalt (Helen) of North Carolina. She had many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well.

She went to school in the Franklinville area where she loved playing softball and meeting many friends.

Margaret or Margie, as she was better known, worked for JJ Newberrys for 36 years running the lunch counter, meeting many wonderful people and greeting them and serving them with a warm smile. After that, she worked at GOODWILL in Millville, NJ.

Margaret loved her many pets through the years, taking very good care of them all. She also loved reading a good book, sitting outside on the porch among her many flowers and plants watching the birds.

Margaret met and married her husband, the late John R. Franceschi, Jr., Rich as he was better known, at the Franklinville Skating Rink, introduced by his cousin Josephine. Together they had two daughters, Anna Mae (Franceschi) Dominguez (Augustus) of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Annette M. Franceschi and husband Daryl S. Hutchinson of Vineland, NJ.

Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, June 26, 2023, from 7:00pm until 8:30pm, followed by a funeral service at 8:30pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08361.
