Obituary of Evangelista Evangelista

Evangelista Evangelista, 68, of Pennsville, New Jersey passed away on November 11, 2023. Evangelista held many titles in his life, from armed guard to entrepreneur, but his favorite role was being a father and grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his adult children, Eunice and Eleanor and their spouses, Michal and Ace. He was always there for them, whether he was helping fix their cars or cheering his daughters and grandchildren on. Evangelista, was born to Emilio and Maria Evangelista, on April 9, 1954, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He successfully obtained a degree in Journalism and began his studies at Escuela Dominicana de Formación Cenico Comercial. He greatly enjoyed his employment with Dominican Custom House. In 1980, he subsequently immigrated to the United States and established his residence in New York City, later relocating to New Jersey in 1993. He enjoyed participating in basketball and baseball activities, as well as engaging in fishing as a leisure activity. He also loved watching his favorite baseball teams Tigres del Licey and New York Yankees. He loved playing chess and loved to listen to classical music. He passed down this love of music and chess to his grandchildren. Evangelista is survived by his wife Ines of 43 years and two daughters, Eunice and Eleanor. He is also survived by his mother, Maria Evangelista Núñez and sisters, Lourdes and Juana; his nephews, Micheal, Christopher, Ricardo, Roberto and Rudito; his grandchildren, Augustyn, Annnalicia, Gabriela and Emilia. Evangelista was predeceased by his father, Emilio Evangelista and beloved grandmother, Antonia Gomez. Despite spending much of that time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes with his grown children, made silly faces with his grandchildren, and even pulled some light-hearted pranks. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed. The Evangelista family graciously extends an invitation to join us for a funeral service in commemoration of Evangelista. We kindly request your presence at the visitation, on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10am to 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, located at 2755 S. Lincoln Ave, Vineland NJ 08361. Following the visitation, a mass will be conducted at 11:30am at Padre Pio Parish, held at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 4680 Dante Ave, Vineland NJ 08361. The final resting place will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, located at 741 E. Walnut Rd, Vineland, NJ 08360.
