Marlon E. Soto, 62, of Vineland, passed away on December 7th,2023 after 33-year battle of multiple sclerosis.
Born to Wilfredo E. Soto and Ana M. Osorio on October 4th, 1961 in Rio Grande Puerto Rico.
He was a graduate of Vineland High School, class of 1980. Marlon was All-American champion in wrestling, track and cross-country following college. Later on, Marlon joined the Army National Guard where a proudly served. He then started his career in the casino industry were retired as a surveillance officer in 2009.
Marlon had one daughter, Melody Soto, he shared with his high school sweetheart, Sonia. Melody gave him three grandchildren. Aliana (Lola) Soto, Gregory and Messiah Clark. While she was his only child, he was a lifelong father figure to Edwin Gonzalez and Jorge Planas both of Vineland.
Marlon was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Marlon, unendingly proud of Melody, Carmen, Lucy, Maritza as well as his nieces and nephews. He always did his best to support them and motivate them, especially in sports, to help keep them productive and active.
Marlon was also a passionate Philly sports fan and could often be found watching the game and being a couch coach.
Marlon was a loving father, brother, uncle any family could ask for. Marlon was predeceased by both his parents; Wilfredo Soto and Ana Osorio, sister; Carmen Williams, along with aunts and many cousins.
He is survived by his daughter; Melody Soto, sister; Lucy Gibson and Maritza Castillo-Ore, nieces; Janay, Brandi and Cambrie, nephews; Michael, Alex, Stanley and Jayson.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 from 4:00pm until 5:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave, Vineland, New Jersey, 08361, followed by a funeral service at 5:00pm.
