Obituary of Hector R Rodriguez, Sr.

Hector R. Rodriguez, Sr., age 81, of Vineland, NJ, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Inspira Hospital in Vineland, NJ.

Hector was born in Penuelas, Puerto Rico on November 12, 1942 to the late Juan E. Rodriguez-Morales and Carmen Morales-Barriera. He moved to Vineland, NJ in 1959, after several job opportunities, he began a career in plumbing with Lowenstern Plumbing, eventually moving on to Tirell Plumbing and then a long-term career with Buena Plumbing and Falasca Mechanical. He was Buena's Plumbing's 5th hire and influenced many of his family members and friends to join the team at Buena Plumbing. Hector was also an employee of GE Mechanical in his career as well. A career that brought him much joy and success. 

Hector was known as a hard worker, even after retirement he continued to work on small projects, he also helped out Siera Mechanical, a lifelong friend that he met at Buena Plumbing. He was a member of the National Sheet Metal Workers Union, something he was very proud of. He was known as the "family's plumber" throughout the years. He was a long-term customer of Ace Plumbing Supply and Wallace Plumbing Supply of Vineland, NJ.

Besides work he enjoyed traveling, working in his garden and visiting family members throughout the United States. Hector attended Higher Places Ministries of Vineland, NJ, and loved to donate to various charities. He also loved watching old time TV shows and nature shows.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Bishop McCarthy Center and everyone that cared for Hector, we also want to extend our gratitude to all of the various family members and friends who visited Hector during his time at Bishop McCarthy Center.

Hector is survived by his wife Georgina P. Rodriguez; son, Hector R. Jr. (Maria) Rodriguez; daughter, Jeanette Rodriguez of Vineland, NJ; grandchildren, Dennis (Randi) Rodriguez of Blackwood, NJ; Hillary R. Rodriguez of Ft. Myers, FL; Brandon (Shauri) Kennedy and Hannah R. Rodriguez of Vineland, NJ; great-grandchildren, Khloe, Kobe and Kayden Rodriguez of Blackwood, NJ; brother, Samuel (Rhody) Rodriguez and sister, Rosalinda Calderon of Vineland, NJ; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Elsa Matias and brothers, Juan and Santos.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10:00am to 12:00pm, followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland.
