Obituary of Catharine Doroshuk
Catharine Doroshuk, lovingly known as Baba, left this world on January 31, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was 97 years old. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, known for her unwavering love for her family and deep faith in Christ.
Catharine was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, her son Ted, daughter Helen, and grandson David. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, each a testament to the legacy of love and strength that she leaves behind: son Dan Doroshuk, and his children Derek (Jamie) and Dustin (Rebecca); daughter Mary Djakow, son-in-law Nick, and their children Nicole (Scott), Jenny, and Tori; daughter-in-law Nita Bakay and children Chris (Melissa) and Michelle. Catharine's love extended to embrace five great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years. While her absence leaves a void, her memory, and the love she shared, will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Catharine was born in Poland and survived the atrocities of World War II with faith, strength and resilience. Her love for family extended to the garden and kitchen, where her recipes, especially for pierogies, will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of enjoying them.
A viewing and memorial service to honor Catharine will be held on Monday, February 5th, 2024 from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a funeral service at 11:00am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland, NJ. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, E. Broad St, Millville, NJ 08332.
