Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donald Lee Holt, 84, a long-time resident of Vineland, died February 1, 2024 at the family home following a brief illness. Don was born in Fairmont, W. VA. to Frederick and Grace Holt. Don's father moved the family to Vineland in 1950 to take a job as an industrial engineer at Kimble Glass Co. Don was a 1957 graduate of Vineland High School. Don's career focused on sales and sales management in the food production/service industry, including positions with Venice Maid and Seashore Foods. He retired in 2002. He was an avid cook and a restaurant aficionado. A life-long football fan, he bought his first Eagles season tickets in 1960. What followed were many years of Eagles games, tailgating with friends, and a Superbowl win in 2017. As a young man he played fast-pitch softball (pitcher). He also loved golf, bowling, poker, pinochle, and hearts. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karla S. Holt; son, Brian Joseph; two daughters, from a previous marriage to Sandy Baldi, Cynthia Louise Holt-Smith, and Susan Lynn Holt; his brother, Brad; five grandchildren, Samantha, Noah, Jude, Lily and Fern, and one great-grandson, Gracen. Don was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Barbara Jane Snyder, and his life-long best friend, Paul Dennis Bossi. Services are private; a celebration of Don's life will be held at a later date. The family asks that expressions of sympathy be in the form of donations to the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter (SJRAS), 1244 N Delsea Dr, Vineland, NJ 08360, or the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, 6735 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township, NJ 08234.
