Robert C. Smith II (75) passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 while under the care of family and Hospice after suffering from an extended illness.

Bob was born in Millville, NJ to Robert C. Smith and Mary Rose Smith (Procopio). In high school he sang and played piano in his popular band called the Sequins. He also played numerous sports in school and remained a sports fan throughout his life, never missing an Eagles, Phillies or Flyers game. He was a championship golfer and had the privilege of playing on PGA level courses. He began teaching special education on an emergency certificate while pursuing his bachelor degree. His long teaching career began in Maurice River Township and continued to Deerfield Township Elementary School. He also taught 7th and 8th grade history and the elementary grades as needed. He coached basketball, baseball and tennis in summer programs. He developed multiple small businesses over the years including a successful pizzeria.

Bob is predeceased by his father, Robert, his brother Barry and his granddaughter Veronica Rosina.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Jane Smith (Corwonski); his three children, Valerie and husband Carlos Nunez, Robert and wife Renee (Albanese), Mark; three beloved grandchildren, Nick, Myles and Simon; his brother, Bryan and his mother Mary.

Donations in Bob's honor may be made to JDRF, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or The Vineland YMCA Seals Swim Team.

Funeral service will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
