Obituary of Willie Mae Guzman

Willie Mae Guzman, 89 of Vineland, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at home and surrounded by her family. Willie Mae Wilkinson was born on September 20, 1923 to proud parents Willie Lee Wilkinson and Lillie Mae Rogers in Alabama. She was born the second child six years after her sister Ruby and since they had hoped for a boy they changed the name Willie Lee, like her father, to Willie Mae. After graduating high school she attended nursing school and was a nurse in several hospitals and did private duty as well. The last hospital she worked in was the American Hospital of Chicago where she met her husband Enrique Guzman who was working as a physician. In 1957 she was married to Enrique and through the course of eight years had five children. She volunteered as a den mother helping the boy scouts of America. Her hobbies include raising five children, playing piano, gardening, and walking. She is predeceased by her first son Enrique Guzman, Jr. She is survived by her husband Enrique, her sons, Alex, Martin, Ruben, and one daughter Maria, grandson Paul Michael, and Marc Edward. Her family and friends will miss her very much but know that she is with The Lord. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11am at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday morning from 9am to 11am at the funeral home.
