Obituary of Irene Holmes

Irene Stringer-Holmes, affectionately known as "Teenie" passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday February 13, 2024.

Born in September 1952 in Philadelphia, PA to James and Thelma Stringer, she was the baby sister of eight siblings.

Although she was happily enjoying retirement, Irene's career consisted of working in the Philadelphia Hospital system, Child Care Provider, Retail Sales as well as Administrative Assistant. Her pride and joy was her family, and she loved her two daughters and grandchildren deeply. Also having a unique bond with her sisters, everyone knew that they stuck together at all costs.

Irene is predeceased by her parents James and Thelma Stringer, brothers Lee Edward Morgan, Harold Stringer, and James Stringer Jr., sister Geraldine Edwards, and brother in love James Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband of 38 years, Ronald Holmes; two daughters April and Tiffany; sons in love Rodney and Warren; granddaughters Evangeline, Aria, and Alyssa; grandson Warren III; Sisters, Elizabeth, Delores, and Diane; brother in love, Joe Carey; Sister in love, Linda Holmes, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday February 20th for a graveside service at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Bridgeton, NJ at 12 noon.
