Frank W. Luisi Jr., 99, of Vineland, passed away Wednesday March 6, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 17, 1924 to Frank W. Luisi Sr. and Celestine (DelVechio).
Frank played football as a running back for Sacred Heart High School and Vineland High School where he later graduated from. He was an Ocean City Lifeguard from 1941 to 1942 and again in 1946 after his service in the United States Army. Frank was drafted in 1943 and served as a Private First Class in the Third Army under General George S. Patton, Jr. From the 1960's through the 1980's Frank owned and operated Luisi's Bar & Package Store in Vineland. He worked various "keep busy positions" throughout his life. Frank was well known for organizing bus caravans to Phillies and Eagle games. He spent his later years at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland.
Frank loved spending time with his family, eating good food and enjoying the time with his close friends and cousins as well as playing cards with his sister-in-law Phyllis.
In agreement with his family, his son in law, who he enjoyed talking about the Lord with, said "He was the most humble man he has ever met and he would have given you the shirt off of his back."
Frank is survived by his wife of 76 years, Rosemarie (Asselta) Luisi and his children, Marcia, Francine (Mike Reeves), Frank A. (Lynn) and Michael J. (Lisa); grandchildren, Denise (Bruce), Russell, Gwendolyn (Dustin), Christopher (Ciara), Kyle (Maggie), Ryan (Rebecca), Frankie, Michael (Paola), Aaron (Sidney), Jesse Rae; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Donovan, Brody, Luke, Elowen, Amaria, Olivia, a little Luisi to be arriving soon, Penny Lane, Michael, Roan, Marcus, Isla and Tessa.
He is predeceased by his parents Frank Sr. and Celestine, sister, Virginia and brother-in-law, Chubby.
The family would like to thank the staff at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland for all their help and compassion towards their father.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with funeral services at 3:00pm at DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, 2755 S. Lincoln Ave., Vineland. Burial will be private.
