Obituary of Silvia Fierro

Silvia (Masucci) Fierro, 96, passed away peacefully on March 7th at Inspira Hospital in Vineland surrounded by her loving family.

Silvia was born June 27, 1927, in Flumeri, Avellino. She was a seamstress who immigrated from Italy in 1965. She worked for Newell Clothing in Vineland for many years.

Silvia's greatest love was her love of family. She was most joyous when she was spending time with loved ones. Her love for children was unsurpassed and wherever she went they were drawn to her as well.

Silvia was a wonderful cook who could whip up a meal in a heartbeat. Her home always had an open door where her children, grandchildren, family, and friends would continually visit to savor the food and good times.

Her other passion was playing the slot machines at the casino and was one of the first to take the bus trips in the '80s. She loved going out – whether it was to play the slots, to eat, or enjoy festivities. She also comes from a musical family and had a great love of music. She especially loved country music and musicians such as Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn.

Silvia was pre-deceased by her husband, Nicolangelo of 60 years; her daughter, Anna Maria; her great grandson, Tyler Hensley, and all of her siblings (11).

She is survived by her son, Vincent Fierro and daughter, Antoinette Fierro (Chad Fabbri and daughter Alessandria Fabbri); grandchildren, Maria Hensley (William Hensley), Silvia Lauria, Nicholas Maddox (Tania Maddox); great grandchildren, Eric Dones Jr. and Elise Maddox; sister-in-law, Gilda Masucci; nieces, Maria and Nancy Masucci; brother-in-law, Remo Fierro along with other extended family here and in Italy.

Silvia will be greatly missed by all who know her as she touched everyone's heart in a special way.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 15th at CGSP, Sacred Heart Church, 1010 E. Landis Ave., Vineland from 11am to 12pm, followed by a funeral liturgy at 12pm at church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. The family will be collecting donations for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and thanks you in advance for your donation.
