Obituary of Albert J. Fisher Sr
Albert J. Fisher, 83, of Mays Landing, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Tuesday, April 23, 2024, after a brief illness.
Born in Ravenna, Ohio, Albert was the son of the late Mary (D'Augustine) and Albert J. Fisher, Sr. He later moved to Minotola, NJ with his family as a young teen. After graduating from Vineland H.S. in 1959, Albert joined the Army, serving his country he so loved, while being stationed out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky where he received the Good Conduct Medal before being honorably discharged in 1962. He continued with his service through the Army Reserves until 1965. After his military service, Albert spent most of his adult life as a resident of Vineland where he used his multiple talents in sales, carpentry, and construction as manager at Sears and Roebuck, owner of Al Fisher's Shoe Tree, and as a finisher with the Atlantic City Carpenters Union. He spent his most enjoyable working years partnering with his lifelong friend, Fred Franks, at Eastern Asphalt Maintenance up until his retirement. Albert possessed unmatched mechanical skills, demonstrating the ability to mend or construct anything that required fixing or building a deck, fence, home additions and so much more.
In addition to his full life, Albert cherished the moments he spent with friends, especially his visits with Fred and Evelyn over several winters in Florida. His cherished friendships added richness and warmth to his life, creating memories that will be treasured by all who shared his company. However, his love, passion, and dedication to his family was his legacy as he continued to give selflessly, making great sacrifices well into his later years.
In 1964, he married the love of his life, Kathleen (Muehter) starting his loving family while raising two sons, Albert and Michael, and a daughter, Lori (Robinson), who provided him seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. For him, spending quality time together was the cornerstone of their bond and cherished every moment shared with them. He shared his love and passion for sports by giving back to the community, coaching CYO basketball and baseball for East Vineland Little League while mentoring and shaping the lives of young athletes. He was a passionate Philadelphia sports fan where he spent time cheering on his beloved Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, and Eagles! As a long-time member of Northwest Swim Club community pool, Albert shared his talents as a positive leader and as Past President. He found joy and relaxation in the water, connecting with others who shared his passion for family. Albert's positive and caring attitude carried into his faith. He was a devout Catholic as a member of Sacred Heart Church and church choir.
Albert was predeceased by his loving wife, Kathleen (Muehter), and is survived by his son, Albert, Jr. and wife Debbie of Vineland; his daughter, Lori and husband Matt of Mays Landing; and son Michael and wife Irene of Murrells Inlet, SC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Matthew, Drew and Emma Robinson of Mays Landing, Garrett Fisher, Brian Murray and wife Lorna, and Brandon Murray; along with three great grandchildren, Cameron, Bretton, and Mia. Albert has also left behind two brothers, David of Minotola, and Wayne Fisher and his wife Debbie of Wrightstown, PA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Lincoln Avenue, Vineland, and again on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 10am until 11am, followed by a funeral service at 11am, at the funeral home.
